Nara Women's University : General Information
History - Location - Environment
In 1908, Nara Women's University was established to be the Nara Normal
School for Woman School teachers in order to educate woman teachers in
women's junior high school, high school and in kindergarten. In 1949,
according to the promulgation of the National School Foundation Law,
the present Nara Women's University was founded,and it has been
researching "as one of the top educational institutes for women,to
give wide knowledge, to teach and research special studies and to
improve their abilities appropriately to woman characteristics.
The university is located in Nara city, which is the old capital of
Japan, and it is surrounded by many cultural remains and beautiful
natural environment. In the campus, tiled school buildings are located
neatly, and they are surrounded by wide green belts and many trees. Up
to now from the establishment, in such a blessed environment, a lot of
woman students have been taught and out into the world.

Offices that have the closest relation to foreign students are, the
Faculty Offices, the Student Office which is carrying on accepting
foreign students and their lives, the Student Welfare Division which
is carrying on placement, health, scholarships, dormitories, the
Entrance Examination Division which is carrying on application for
entrance, and entrance examination.
