Newly arrived journals and books are available.
Back issues of journals up to last year are located in the basement stacks (Japanese journals) or the automatic stacks (foreign journals).

If you wish to talk on your cell phone, please use the Mobile phone booth. (Mobile phone booths are also available in the 2nd floor reading room.)

Search area

PCs for searching library collection(3 units)
Internet access is available for searching the library collection.
*If you wish to write reports, use e-mail, etc, please use the computers at Learning Commons, PC corner or Global Commons.
*Please do not download any personal software.
In addition, there is one computer in the Reference books room on the 2nd floor and one in the basement stacks for library book searches.




Computer for digitized contents transmission service for libraries (1 unit)
Digitized contents transmission service for libraries provided by the National Diet Library, Japan (NDL) is available. (Please apply at the Service Desk when using this service.)

Learning Commons

This is an area for group discussion and communication using the Academic Information Center's materials and computers.

Group study rooms are available for group meetings, classes, circle activities, etc.

It takes time to confirm the reservation, so if you wish to use the facilities on the same day, please apply directly to the Service Desk of academic information center.
(Same-day use after 17:00 on weekdays and on Saturdays and Sundays is only accepted at the Service Desk(You cannot apply through the web form.).
*To reserve the International Seminar Room, please apply through reservation form of Nara ISC (Nara Women's University) websites .

Audio Vidual booths（6 seats）

This booth is for the use of audiovisual materials.
DVDs, CDs, videos, laser discs (LDs), records(LP), and cassette tapes are available.

DVDs (case only), CDs, LDs, videos, and LPs are located on the shelves near by search area on the 1st floor.
Please take out the materials you wish to use and present your student ID, staff ID, or library card at the Service Desk on the 1st floor to complete the procedures.
In exchange for your card, you will be lent a pair of headphones and a remote controller to use at the respective booth.
You will not be able to use the AV booth without these headphones and remote controller.

Image proccesing room

The image proccesing room is equipped with the following equipment.
Please apply for the use of the Image Processing Room by filling out the reservation form.
*Hours of use: Weekdays 9:00-17:00 (last minute requests may not be accepted)

There is a thematic display of library materials and a pamphlet storage area.
Newspapers and materials for international students and TOEIC reference books are also available.

Reading room (2nd floor)

This room can be used for reading materials, self-study etc. (Please refrain from talking as this is a quiet work space.)
Materials which have indicate "2階閲覧室" by OPAC are placed on the shelves near the entrance of this room.

Reference books, complete works of art, maps, CD-ROMs are available.

Printer (1 unit) (for printing out search results, etc.) Printer requires users to bring in their own paper.

Open stacks

Japanese books, Japanese journals are located in these stacks.

Basement stacks
There are reading seats (16 seats) and a PC for searching the library collection (1 unit).

There are also reading seats (6 seats each) at the back of the 1st and 2nd floors of the stacks.

IT Commons(2nd floor west）

There are PCs(83 units) and a monochrome printer (1 unit / paper size A4).
The computers are available for self-study when not in use, although they are used first for classes.

Global Commons(2nd floor west)

There are PCs for self-study(13 units) and monochrome printers (2 units / A4 paper size) .
There are also study seats without PCs.

Learning booths(2nd floor west)

These private seats can be used for language study, taking online classes, etc. (3 booths / reservations required).
Each booth is equipped with a Blu-ray disc player and monitor.
Internet access is available by using a laptop PC or other devices.
Please make a reservation in advance via reservation form.

Lending of memory card reader and headphones

Memory card readers and headphones are available for loan at the Service Desk.(Only for use in the center)
Please show your student ID, staff ID, or library card if you wish to use them.
In exchange for your card, you will be lent the equipments.
After use, please return the equipments to the Service Desk.
