(1) Procedures for Receiving Scholarships
International students must visit the International Students Section monthly to sign on the registration book. Scholarship will be paid to the student's account at the Japan Post Bank.
For this reason, international students are required to open a bank account at the Japan Post Bank as soon as possible. Note that a residence card and Student ID Card must be presented upon application.
The payment date of the scholarship is in accordance with the date you sign. For more details, ask the International Students Section.

(2) Extension of the Period for Receiving the Scholarship
When a student wishes to continue her studies beyond her scholarship period, she can apply for an extension. However, in some cases like Japanese Studies Students, an application for extension is not available. International students who wish to have their period of grants extended should consult with the staff of the International Students Section of the International Division for more details.

(3) Travel Expenses on Returning to Your Home Country
When Japanese Government Scholarship Students return to their home countries in the same month of finishing the designated period, they will receive an air ticket from Kansai International Airport to the airport in their home countries. Airfare will not be provided to such cases: having studied beyond their scholarship period, starting to work in Japan, or returning home during their period. Also, a request for airfare after the end of scholarship period will not be acceptable.
The application deadline at our university is 2 months before you wish to return. (If you wish to depart at the end of the academic year (March), you have to submit the form by the end of December.)
When you complete your study and start to make a plan to return home, please contact the International Students Section of the International Division in advance.
For more details, please contact the International Students Section.
